Hackers laid the drive-by malware upwardly at the BBC's half-dozen Music website too the BBC 1Xtra radio station website. Researchers at the insecurity outfit Websense establish the exploits too lay its study upwardly on its safety labs blog.
"The BBC - half-dozen Music Web site has been injected amongst a malicious iframe, equally bring areas of the BBC 1Xtra radio station Web site," an anonymous Websense insecurity researcher wrote.
Websense claims the injected iframe is at the bottom of the BBC half-dozen Music webpage too has been laid to automatically download about dodgy code from a .cc website. Apparently the hack is precisely the same on the BBC's 1Xtra website.
"If an unprotected user browsed to the site they would last faced amongst drive-by downloads, pregnant that just browsing to the page is plenty to become infected amongst a malicious executable," Websense continued.
The malware was designed using a Pheonix Exploit kit too solely 12 out of 43 of the peak anti-virus packages establish the exploit. Using Virus Total scan to encounter which products picked upwardly the injected iframe, Websense showed that anti-virus scans from about outfits similar Kaspersky, Symantec, PC Tools too Trend Micro picked upwardly the hack.
